Human Resources Administrator

Part time - 30 hours/week

Waimakariri District is one of the fastest-growing Districts in New Zealand and it's a really interesting time to be involved with Local Government with abundant challenges across a diverse range of areas. The Waimakariri District Council is looking for a part-time Human Resources Administrator who has the ability to work effectively across a range of administrative activities and processes and enjoys interacting with a broad range of people every day.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Administrator to join our HR Team in this permanent part-time position, 30 hours a week. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support all administrative tasks across the HR function for the 28 different business units within Waimakariri District Council.

Your key duties will be:

  • Support our Managers with the recruitment process (Job descriptions, advertising through to appointment).
  • Coordinate and administer employee onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Manage and support general HR admin tasks such as employee leave, changes to employment, change to employee details
  • Preparation of Contracts, variations and other documents
  • Provide admin support during annual performance & salary reviews
  • Assist with ongoing HR-related projects and initiatives

Your skills & experience will be:

  • Proven HR Administration experience
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • People-focused
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to people at all levels
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • Strong computer skills

This position is a 30 hours/week, permanent role based in Rangiora, Canterbury with working hours during business hours Monday to Friday, to be confirmed with the successful applicant.

Only 20 minutes north of Christchurch, Waimakariri District offers small town and rural lifestyles with a range of outdoor recreation activities on your doorstep but with the advantages of a big city nearby.
