Expressions of Interest for Trustee of Enterprise North Canterbury
North Canterbury is one of the fastest growing regions in the country, supported by a robust and growing economy.
Enterprise North Canterbury is a Trust established by Waimakariri and Hurunui District Councils with the vision to inspire, attract and retain individuals, businesses and social enterprises to invest in our region.
The Trust, which comprises up to seven voluntary trustees (including the Mayors of the two Councils) and ten staff and contractors, takes an innovative and proactive approach to ensure it is a leader and facilitator of economic and tourism development within the region. The Board has been very successful in developing a range of strategic responses to support existing businesses to grow and prosper, attract and inspire businesses, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and Government to invest in our region, foster visitor and event opportunities and promote development.
One vacancy has arisen so the Councils are seeking expressions of interest from people who:
- Have a significant interest as an owner or manager of a business located in the region,
- Represent a major business sector of the region, namely agriculture, manufacturing, retail, tourism, and professional services, and
- Have the capability to espouse a vision or strategic direction for that part of the region's economy that they are engaged in.
It is desirable that candidates have previous experience as a director or have held similar governance roles and can commit to a minimum term of three years.
