Being such a fast growing district provides a unique set of challenges and opportunities as well as a diverse portfolio to work with.

About the role

The Waimakariri District Council has an exciting opportunity for a Special Projects Team Leader to join the Project Delivery Team. The focus of the Special Projects Team Leader is to provide direction & coaching to your team, provide quality engineering expertise across a range of civil engineering projects, and provide engineering leadership across the unit and department. You will strive on working effectively across a wide range of challenges and enable a customer-focused environment.

The successful applicant will lead a motivated team of engineers, working with industry leaders, asset managers, engineering consultants, and contractors. You will have a strong record in project management with a good understanding of required scheduling and budgeting for capital works and renewal projects. You will need strong time management & organisation skills and ability to prioritise your own work and your team's work in order to achieve timely outcomes.

Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated team player who is well organised, able to prioritise and committed to providing excellent service and quality results. We offer a very competitive salary and a great team culture to be part of. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional. The council offers a work environment where you really make a difference.
