The Council have an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Building Officer to join our Building Unit based in Rangiora.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing consent applications for compliance to the Building Code and building law. Accordingly, you must have an eye for detail, a sound understanding of the New Zealand Building Code and importantly are comfortable working collaboratively with our customers, because at the end of the day we are all in this together.
Sound emotional intelligence, well developed literacy and computer skills are essential. You will be a team player with a "can do" attitude and you'll promote solutions rather than problems. We invest in the wellbeing of our staff and take seriously the happiness and satisfaction our staff have in their work. Ongoing training will be encouraged.
