Roading Compliance Engineer

Waimakariri District is one of the fastest growing Districts in New Zealand and the fourth largest, by population, in the South Island. The Council is seeking a Roading Compliance Engineer within the Utilities & Roading Department, based in Rangiora, North Canterbury.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join a progressive and customer-focused Council. This is a permanent full-time position with the responsibility of ensuring works and activities carried within the road corridor comply with Council standards, so that the roading asset is protected and road safety is not compromised.

The Roading Compliance Engineer is a very important role within the Utilities & Roading Department and a key part of the Roading Team. You will hold the role of Corridor Manager and be responsible for road corridor management, traffic management plans, road closure management, stock crossing management, vegetation control and service requests. This is a great opportunity to take ownership and work closely with the public, Council, consultants, and contractors to deliver outstanding results.

This role will suit an individual ideally with an engineering qualification who has technical expertise in traffic and network management and significant experience in these areas. Strong organisation and oral communication skills are essential for this varied and challenging position.
