Lifeguards and Waiswim Instructors (Expressions of interest)
The Waimakariri District Council is gathering expressions of interest for Lifeguards and Learn to swim instructors to work at our high quality Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region, Dudley Park Aquatic Centre and Kaiapoi Aquatic Centres.
The Waimakariri District Council serves a community of over 60,000 people and has been, and will continue to, experience rapid growth in all sectors in the coming years. This growth has provided opportunities for more roles within the Aquatic Facilities and the Council are currently seeking applications for part time and casual Lifeguards and WaiSwim Instructors at Dudley Park Aquatic Centre and Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre.
Lifeguards need to be confident swimmers and are responsible for supervising our customers, ensuring they have a fun, safe experience and are keen to return.
WaiSwim Instructors have a sound knowledge of swimming and provide participants with structured swimming and water safety tuition.
Applicants will need to be available primarily weekday evenings and weekends, however work outside of these hours may be available from time to time.
These roles will enable you to be part of an organisation with a great working culture. If you have a desire to be part of a dedicated team of customer-focused professionals then look no further.
Although advantageous, a background in the aquatic industry is not essential. The successful applicants will receive all training necessary to perform their role.
Please note: Short-listed applicants must be prepared to complete a swim test and undergo both Police Vetting and pre-employment drug and Alcohol testing.
